Arthur J. Gallagher Service Company, LLC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consultant to join our team at our office in Minneapolis, MN.
Review client (government organizations, including higher education, public schools, transit agencies, pension funds and related publically funded organizations) classification and compensation information to become familiar with client systems.
Meet with clients in person and by phone to assess their classification and compensation systems.
Conduct job analysis through reading Position Description Questionnaires and conducting face-to-face and phone interviews to understand the job and its essential knowledge’s, skills and qualifications to perform the work.
Develop a classification structure consistent with professional standards, EEO, ADA and other state and federal laws to reflect the work performed and is consistent with the client’s classification strategy.
Write job descriptions which are compliant with all laws federal and state legal requirements and reflect the essential duties, and minimum qualifications to perform the work.
Evaluate jobs using a market pricing approach or one of several types of formal job evaluation methods to establish internal equity. Verify accuracy with clients and make appropriate changes.
Develop salary and benefit survey questionnaires to collect and summarize market data.
Develop salary structures based on analysis of regression analysis results, current pay relationships, labor market conditions and trends, internal equity and client compensation strategies and financial capabilities.
Develop cost allocation algorithms to provide cost estimates for implementation of internally equitable and market competitive salary structures accounting for legal requirements, minimum wage laws, financial capabilities, and related restrictions governing salary management practices in the client’s state.
Develop statistical solutions for the resolution of pay inversion and compression within a client’s pay system, and estimate the cost of correction at the employee level.
Conduct multivariate statistical analyses of race and gender pay equity that comply with the federal, state and local regulations and professional guidelines on conducting pay equity analysis.
Provide clients with recommended solutions to resolve any pay equity disparities that are inappropriate and/or illegal.
Develop final reports and recommendations to deliver to clients.
Prepare and review proposals prepared by others to respond to client requests.
Employer requires a Master’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organizational Psychology, or a related field, or the foreign equivalent degree, and four or more years of relevant experience.
In the alternative, will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Human Resources, or a related field, or the foreign equivalent degree, and eight or more years of experience as a compensation consultant to higher education, government, and public schools.
Experience translating job analysis, job evaluation, and market data findings into understandable recommendations.
Experience with job analysis interviewing techniques.
Experience with multivariate statistical analysis.

Telecommuting permitted: one day per week.
