The position

Due to an exciting new opportunity we are seeking applications for multiple experienced Life and Disability Claims Assessors to join a new team that will be located North Sydney .

You will be managing a portfolio of life insurance claims in the retail and group markets, determining eligibility and liability and managing ongoing maintenance of the claims.

Your responsibilities:

  • Obtain relevant medical and financial evidence as required to assess a claim

  • Review and make recommendations on life, terminal illness, TPD, income protection and trauma claims

  • Calculate claim payments, and ensure claims are paid in a timely manner

  • Authorise payment of third party provider account within agreed timeframes

  • Continually communicate with clients to effectively manage their claims and enquiries

  • Manage the ongoing assessment of a portfolio of claims

  • Prepare management plans for claims and accurately record all actions associated with the claim

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum18 months experience in life and disability claims assessment (essential)

  • People with strong customer service focus and ability to show empathy and compassion

  • Experience interpreting legislation and insurance policies

  • The ability to work as part of a team and contribute to team objectives

  • Strong attention to detail
