The position

We are currently seeking an experience Health Liability Team Leader to join our new team based in Sydney CBD.

To provide day-to-day leadership and technical mentoring to your team ensuring the delivery of a cost effective, professional and customer focused claims service, while developing staff and implementing quality initiatives. This role has a significant focus on leadership, customer service and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the day to day operations of the Liability Claims team;

  • Lead and motivate the Health Liability Claims team;

  • Set priorities and plan workload of the team;

  • Review staff performance and provide training and coaching where required;

  • Build and develop strong working relationships with our Clients;

  • Preparing management reports;

  • Manage daily workflow in order to maintain client service standards – Internal and External;

  • Manager personal portfolio of claims if required;

  • Provide escalation point to team following complaints and/or technical queries;

  • Attendance at stakeholder meetings/conferences/phone calls when required.

What we are looking for

  • 5 Years claims handling experience within Medical Negligence

  • Desired: strong technical expertise in Products Liability and/or Processional Indemnity claims handling

  • 2 years’ leading and/or mentoring experience;

  • Experience in relationship building and stakeholder management;

  • High level interpersonal skills;

  • Strong business acumen;

  • Experience in achieving business targets;

  • Negotiation skills;

  • Coaching and mentoring skills;

  • Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline and/or demonstrated experience in a similar role and

  • Liability Claims Management / General Insurance principles
