Position Summary: Supervises all internal processes and procedures related to the centralized accounts payable/receivable function in addition to the day-to-day operations over a team of support staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leads, coaches, develops, evaluates, and monitors staff to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Develops and monitors the controls to ensure timely and accurate reconciliation, payment, formal reporting and compliance to financial policies and SOX requirements.

  • Maintains the purchase ledger function and ensures the payment of all invoices and expense claims.

  • Aanalyze, research, and resolve complex problems; reviewing and implementing process efficiencies.

  • Prepare and/or approve balance sheet account reconciliations; associated tasks typically include ledger reconciliation and dealing with all invoice and expense claim queries.

Additional Considerations:

  • May also be responsible for higher level accounting work and audit remediation tasks.

  • Direct and lead the work of others in the department

  • Coordinate work between our offshore service center and local accounting center

  • Recruit and train new staff

  • Document and maintain all processes and procedures

  • Monitor and ensure adequate level of performance by individual team members

  • Assist team as needed to achieve departmental performance expectations


  • Associates degree.

  • 4 years general accounting experience.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.

  • Working competency in utilizing agency management systems.

  • Previous supervisory experience required.


  • Bachelors degree preferred.

  • Insurance brokerage accounting experience desired.

  • Spreadsheet skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel a plus

  • Prior background in an accounts receivable position preferred
